Whole Class Reading

During the time designated by the school for whole class reading, all teachers must prioritise the reading of the identified text over any other activity. Shared reading should be perceived as equally as important an activity as any other lesson or curriculum activity. A reading curriculum has been carefully developed for every year group, which includes literature which has been selected for its age appropriateness, contextual relevance and engaging themes. It is important that the evidence-informed practice outlined below is followed in every session.
